How Can You... Open Your Heart to a Senior?

Perhaps you know an older neighbor or family member who could just use an extra hand around the house or a ride to the grocery store. Through Open Your Heart to a Senior, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of an older adult in your
community today!

Open Your Heart to a Senior works to provide volunteer assistance to the area’s vulnerable older adults so that they can continue to live independently and safely in their own home!

  • APPRISE: Volunteers serve as Medicare consultants for eligible adults (disabled or age 65 and older). Full training and support are provided by our expert staff.
  • Volunteer Caregiver Assistance: Volunteers provide non-medical assistance, such as friendly visiting or a ride to doctor appointments, to seniors who are still living in their homes. Many seniors in your neighborhood, local congregation, and community are in great need of these small acts of care.
  • Safety for Seniors: Safety for Seniors volunteers are trained to provide in-home safety checks for local seniors. Volunteers can serve as little as one time or on a regular basis.
  • Other Ways to Volunteer: Click here to learn more about our partnering agencies and the volunteer opportunities they provide such as delivering meals or helping seniors with vision impairments.
